Amanda Bertany plays the production orchestra.
To produce a photo shoot is to orchestrate a crew for a job at a location according to an idea and aesthetic. This requires logistical planning, budget balancing, organization of people and places, and creative improvisation. It is to oversee a project and ensure smooth and successful production. This is what Amanda does best. She is a creative and critical thinker, an independent and collaborative worker, and an organized and meticulous manager— she knows production.
After earning a BFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago in 2003, Amanda began working as a production assistant, and soon after was hired by the formidable Tony D'Orio as a production coordinator. In this capacity she organized jobs of considerable range and value for high profile campaigns, managed the studio, coordinated casting sessions, edited the portfolio, oversaw crew, and advised the photographer.
In 2011 she established Amanda Bertany Productions. While she works as a local in both Atlanta and Chicago, she also produces nationally and abroad. Accordingly, Amanda is connected to well regarded crewmembers, talent agencies, and photographers of diverse styles. She is highly regarded by peers as a scrupulous, organized, and thorough producer. Amanda also excels at navigating the social environment of clients, crew, and talent, and is as affable and easy-going as she is dynamic and assertive.
When not orchestrating, Amanda enjoys globetrotting, the artworld, working out, and the ever-sweet company of Baby Girl (meow).
